Bethany PTA Newsletter - May 21, 2024
A Message From Our President

Dear Bethany Elementary Parents, Staff, and Community,

As we reach the end of the 2023-2024 school year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. Together, we are stronger as a community, and your support has made all the difference. Thank you for your countless hours of volunteering. Whether you helped in classrooms, organized events, or contributed in other ways, your dedication has made a significant impact on our children and our community. I am deeply grateful for the work each of you has done to enhance the educational experience and well-being of our students. Your commitment to our children and our community is inspiring and invaluable.

My journey to this work began years ago when I witnessed the challenges faced by children in underrepresented communities in India. Motivated by their resilience and potential, I pursued and earned a doctorate in education here. This work is close to my heart, and it is an honor to serve. Leading the Bethany Elementary PTA has been a privilege, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside the Executive Board. Their efforts have been instrumental in creating a positive environment for our students. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to all our Board members for their dedication and contributions throughout the year.

Looking ahead, our theme for the next year is "Bethany Elementary: Where Every Connection Counts." We believe that every parent can make a meaningful impact, and we encourage each of you to volunteer for at least one event. Your involvement, no matter how small, strengthens our community and enriches our children's experiences.

In August, we will kick off the new school year with an event to meet the executive board and the chairs of our committees. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about our plans and how you can get involved. More details will be shared about the event later this summer.

As we close this school year, I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable summer. Take this time to recharge and enjoy moments with your loved ones. Thank you once again for supporting our wonderful Bethany community.

With gratitude,
Anu Shekar
President, Bethany Elementary PTA

End of Year Party

Get ready for a day of fun and celebration! Our end-of-year parties are happening this Thursday, May 23rd. Kindergarten and first grade will kick off the festivities from 12:30 to 1:30. Then, second, third, and fourth grades will keep the party going from 1:30 to 2:30. Finally, our amazing fifth graders will celebrate their last year at Bethany Elementary with a special bash from 12:15 to 2:30. Let's make it a day to remember!

Last Day of School

The last day of school is Friday, May 24th. It will be a half day, with students being dismissed at 12 PM. Please plan accordingly. Students should leave their backpacks at home. If you pack a lunch for your child, please use a disposable bag. This applies to snacks and water bottles as well. This will help ensure no personal belongings are left behind over the summer. We appreciate your cooperation in making the last day run smoothly!

School Supplies

Avoid the last-minute rush! Secure your school supplies for the next academic year by placing your order now. Skip the hassle of in-store purchases and ensure you have everything you need on time. Don't wait, order by June 16th!
